Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched its annual ‘Warm Winter' campaign with a total budget of QR10mn to provide winterisation aid to 206,000 beneficiaries in several countries.

QRCS secretary-general Ali Hassan al-Hammadi said the campaign seeks donations from Qatari benefactors not only to make the target families warm during the winter but also “revive their hopes, preserve their dignity, and alleviate their deprivation".
“While we are safe in our homes, we should never forget those homeless and destitute widows, orphans, elderly and patients who lost their homes and livelihoods,” he stressed.
Ahmed al-Khulaifi, head of Resource Mobilisation, told reporters: “The campaign will help the vulnerable and victims of wars or disasters in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.”
To contribute, al-Khulaifi said anyone can donate online (www.qrcs.org.qa), transfer donation via QRCS's account No 11111-26666-202 at Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) (IBAN: QA28QIIB000000001111126666202), call the hotlines (16002 – 66666364 – 66644822), visit QRCS's headquarters in Old Slata, or visit Al Khor Branch (44027883) or Women’s Branch (44027875).
Last year, QRCS’s ‘Warm Winter’ campaign delivered QR7mn worth of winterisation aid and projects for 200,000 beneficiaries, including warm clothing, electric heaters, tarpaulins, blankets, heating oil, and jackets for schoolchildren.
According to Issa al-Ishaq, director of communication, thermal insulating sheets have been installed inside the tents of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and workshops were operated to generate income for displaced women in Syria.
