A small section of an existing diversion on Al Wukair Road will be closed from Sunday for seven months, as shown on the map.
During the period, traffic heading towards Al Wakra will be diverted to a 1km two-lane parallel road.
The diversion is required to enable the construction of a major interchange on the Al Wakra Bypass project, part of Ashghal’s Expressway Programme.
The project will deliver 11km of new dual carriageway with five lanes in each direction and five interchanges, providing better connectivity between Doha and Mesaieed and connecting the south of the city with Hamad International Airport and Doha Port.
With the camping season now underway, Ashghal has reminded motorists to exercise special care while driving to their camp site, reducing speed as necessary.
