A K Biju Raj (centre), an Indian photographer who works with Estad Al Doha magazine, won the first place in the SC photo contest. Biju Raj received the ‘Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy Sports Photography Award’  from Nasser al-Khater (left), Assistant Secretary General, Supreme Committee and AbdulRahman al-Hajri, Director of Youth Affairs Department, Ministry of Culture and Sports. The second place went to Ahammed al-Shafi (Qatar) and third place to Muhammed Daboose (Lebanon).
The photography competition was launched to celebrate Qatar’s budding amateur photography scene and create a group of world-class professional sports photographers ready to showcase Qatar to the world during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar.
Run in collaboration with The Youth Hobbies Center under the auspices of The Ministry of Culture and Sports, professionals, amateurs, and photographers over the age of 18 were all eligible to enter by submitting their best sports photography material, whether it was photos of sports in action, portraits of players or behind-the-scenes shots.
