Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal yesterday met with Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani who is on a visit to Algiers. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral ties and ways to enhance them. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern, especially the Libyan issue. Economic co-operation, especially in energy and industry sectors, was discussed. In a statement later, the Foreign Minister said the meeting reviewed the Libyan crisis, noting that this came within the context of continuous contacts between Qatar and Algeria and exchange of views on regional and international issues. He affirmed that Qatar and Algeria agreed on the importance of supporting the Libyan people to realise their hopes and aspirations for peace and security. Algeria’s Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra also met with HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman.
