Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros (AAB), the sole distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Qatar, signed a sponsorship agreement with Qatar Bowling Federation (QBF) for the organisation of the second World Bowling Singles Championship which will be held in Doha from December 2-9, 2016.
The championship is considered as one of the most prestigious international championships, and this edition will see participation from as many as 45 teams from around the world.
AAB said its sponsorship of this championship is proof of the leading role the company plays in supporting international tournaments, sports, cultural and social activities.
The announcement was made at a press conference and was attended by AAB’s top management along with Qatar Bowling Federation senior officials and local media representatives.
The QBF was represented by Championship Organizing Committee president Salman Abdullah al-Abdulghani and deputy president Abdel Salam Abbas Hassan, while AAB was represented by vice-chairman Abdulrahman Abduljaleel al-Abdulghani and CEO Serdar Toktamis.
The AAB vice-chairman began the press conference saying that QBF is one of the active Qatari federations and is capable of hosting such prestigious championships.
QBF, on its part, highlighted that AAB is one of the leading companies in Qatar supporting and sponsoring events and activities, especially sport activities.
AAB was established in 1958 as part of Qatar’s infrastructure development and was awarded the Toyota dealership in 1964. The company has grown to be one of the country’s leading automobile companies with operations including automotive, heavy equipment, pre-owned vehicles, rental and leasing.
