HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani yesterday held a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, within the framework of the Qatari-Turkish consultative committee meetings.
At the outset of the meeting, the two ministers commended the outcomes of the first round of the consultative committee meetings, which was held in Doha last year and resulted in the signing of 17 agreements.
The two sides expressed satisfaction over the excellent level the bilateral relations have reached in all fields as well as the consultation and co-ordination between them in the light of the continuous exchange of high-level visits between senior officials. They stressed the importance of maintaining these relations by increasing existing bilateral co-ordination.
They also reviewed bilateral relations in all fields, particularly in the areas of trade, investment and energy and ways of enhancing them to serve the common interests of the two countries.
The two ministers exchanged views on the latest political regional and international developments, particularly the situation in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya. They also discussed roles of the two countries in combating terrorism.
