Commercial Bank has announced its gold sponsorship and participation at the Qatar Central Bank’s third conference on information security for the financial sector.
The conference connects leading Qatari and international experts from institutions such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (Swift) to review security and protection regulations, processes, awareness, and best practices in the information security field.
Senior representatives from Commercial Bank actively participated at the conference and the accompanying exhibition.
The conference builds on the successful first and second conferences for Information Security in Financial Institutions in 2014 and 2015 entitled “Challenges and Solutions.” This year’s conference continued the discussion and shed light on the role played by cooperation and preemptive moves in electronic information protection.
Speaking at the conference, Commercial Bank CEO Joseph Abraham said: Commercial Bank is honoured to support the Qatar Central Bank with our sponsorship and participation at this conference for the third successive year, as we wholeheartedly encourage national efforts to share information and best practice to enhance information security across Qatar.
“Commercial Bank fully appreciates the importance of securing our customer and corporate information, and takes all current and emerging cyber threats very seriously. Our security vision is to ensure that Commercial Bank is viewed as a trusted partner by protecting the data we hold on behalf of our customers, our employees, and the business, enabling us to evolve into the digital world and provide a safe and secure work environment that maximises staff utilisation and builds customer loyalty.”
