The in-house legal team of Al Faisal Holding has gained international recognition after sharing the ranks with The Legal 500’s GC Powerlist of Middle East legal teams.
The Legal 500 is a global legal industry ranking organisation based in London, which analyses and ranks the capabilities of legal teams across the world on an annual basis to identify and recognise those in-house corporate counsels who are making a difference and driving their companies forward. The in-house legal team at Al Faisal Holding, one of Qatar’s largest privately held diversified industry groups owned by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, has met a series of The Legal 500’s criteria by demonstrating its “innovative and progressive performance.”
Al Rayyan Tourism and Investment Company (Artic) managing director and CEO Tarek el-Sayed said: “One of the key components of the success and growth of our company is the quality of its human capital. All of our staff and management are highly-qualified and strive to perform in accordance with best international practice and standards, so we are proud that the achievements of our legal team have been recognised independently in the The Legal 500’s GC Powerlist.”
Chief legal officer Maha Jadallah Harper said: “In line with the company’s expansion strategy, the legal department has undergone significant structural changes over the past few years, adopting new systems and processes to enhance efficiency and improve the corporate governance and compliance abilities of the group. At the same time, the legal team has been closely involved with the continuing development and expansion of Al Faisal Holding’s interests.
“A major part of this role has been to undertake the challenging in-house legal work to enable the rapid growth of Artic, Al Faisal Holding’s international hotel investment company. This has involved an immense number of major hotel acquisitions across the US and Europe, the successful completion of which is in no small way down the unstinting effort and dedication of the in-house team at Al Faisal.”
The team’s work has been “greatly praised” by several nominators commenting on the team’s role in being one of the main hidden pillars in the success and growth of Al Faisal Holding Group.
