On the invitation of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain is arriving here on Saturday on a two-day official visit.

During his stay, the president of Pakistan will call on HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir besides holding several meetings with various officials of Qatari government.
During his goodwill visit, the Pakistani head of state would also interact with the members of Pakistani diaspora in Qatar and meet the local Qatari and Pakistani expatriate business communities.
“It is a goodwill visit and the president of Pakistan was invited to visit Qatar during HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s visit to Pakistan in March last year.
However, unlike Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit earlier this year, there will be no signing of MoUs during the president’s visit,” a senior official of Pakistan embassy said.
President Mamnoon, the 12th incumbent President of Pakistan, during his first visit to Qatar will start his engagements by visiting a Pakistani school to meet children from Pakistan expatriate community.
He is also expected to meet several Qatari ministers including the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs.
“The president will have an extensive interaction with the Pakistani community members during his visit to Doha at multiple levels,” said the Pakistani embassy official while adding that the visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Qatar and Pakistan.
In February this year, Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif visited Qatar on the invitation of HH the Emir and two countries signed a number of memorandums of understanding in the fields of health, radio and television, education and research besides concluding a long-term sale/purchase agreement for LNG.
Pakistan signed with Qatar $1bn LNG import deal for 15 years during Sharif’s visit.
Recently, Qatargas and Pakistan-based Global Energy Infrastructure Limited signed a 20-year LNG sale and purchase agreement.
Qatar in June this year signed a contract with Pakistan to purchase a number of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex’s Super Mushshak (Proficient) fixed-gear basic trainer aircraft.
