Qatar Post (Q-Post) has launched the Arabic website of its e-commerce service `Connected by Qatar Post', which is described as a `unique' channel offering several parcel delivery options.

"The new service would also provide collection facility for customers from any of the 25 branches of the Q-Post apart from the option of keeping the ordered parcels in its smart lockers on its arrival," deputy director (sales and marketing) Khalid J al-Emadi said.
Under the service, home delivery is also provided.
Recalling the strides made by the `Connected by Qatar Post' English portal since its launch more than six months ago, al-Emadi said the company has been receiving positive feedback from customers and some more features were added to the Arabic portal.
Besides introducing a rate calculator on the portal, the company has also announced the opening of a new procurement warehouse in China for its procurement from that country.
It was also announced yesterday that the new service offers 30% discount in tariffs to all new customers.
In addition, customers using the service until December will also be qualified to enter a draw to win prizes of business class to tickets to Europe. One winner will be awarded per month and the final draw will be held on January 8, 2017.
"While some of the international online stores do not provide international shipping options, the 'Connected' provides international shipping addresses in the UK and the US," said Q-Post's Marketing & Communications head Maud Daniel. The services from China would be available from next month, she announced.
The Q-Post official also said the new service offers consolidation of parcels ordered from separate vendors into one shipment at a discounted price. The movement of the parcel from the originating point would be closely monitored and tracked until it is delivered to the customers.
Daniel said the response to the 'Connected by Qatar Post' English portal has been impressive and more than 10,000 members have so far joined the service.
``In about six months, we have delivered more than 7,000 parcels," she said.
The official also hoped that the presence of warehouses in the US and UK and the new one starting in China would enhance the volume of parcel flow through the new service.
