Sidra Medical and Research Center (Sidra) has announced the appointment of Dr Kholode al-Obaidli as its Chief Learning Officer (CLO).
“With over 18 years’ experience in employee and leadership development, Dr al-Obaidli will spearhead learning and development programmes to nurture the talent within Sidra but also to develop programmes to attract and inspire future healthcare professionals,” Sidra chief executive officer Peter Morris said.
Prior to joining Sidra, Dr al-Obaidli was vice president of HR National Talent Management at Qatar Airways Group.
She is credited with creating a competitive advantage for the Group through innovative talent management programmes and educational initiatives linked to corporate strategy.
Alongside her work in continued executive education for the leadership, Dr al-Obaidli promoted a new wave of Qatarisation, with learning and education as foundation elements.
“I look forward to supporting Sidra by strengthening it from the inside. I am also committed to building and strengthening the capabilities of Qatari nationals in the healthcare sector,” she said.
Dr al-Obaidli’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Sidra, as it prepares to step up its recruitment of the more than 4,000 employees needed in both clinical and non-clinical roles.
As CLO at Sidra, al-Obaidli’s learning and development strategy will focus on opportunities for the entire organisation to play a key role in realising the organisation’s vision and mission.
Dr al-Obaidli holds a PhD in Public Policy and Education from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
She also has a master’s degree from the University of Manchester and a bachelor’s degree from Qatar University.
