Minister of Public Health, HE Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari met Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of a working dinner held for senior participants in the Fifth Replenishment Conference of the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Montreal.
During the meeting, the health minister conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the prime minister.
Trudeau too conveyed his greetings to the Emir.
He also thanked Qatar for supporting the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
The Canadian premier praised the depth of relations with Qatar.
HE Dr al-Kuwari also met Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Stephane Dion. Talks dealt with bilateral relations and topics being discussed during the conference in addition to a number of issues of common interest, especially in the health sector.
The Qatari minister also met with a number of senior officials from the McGill University For Cancer and the Children’s Hospital in Canada, the Executive Director of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and Chairman of the Certificates Attesting Authority.
Co-operation in various health areas were discussed during the meetings.
