Qatar created history at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro yesterday when Sarah Masoud won the silver medal in the women’s shot put F33 event.
This is the first time a Qatari female athlete has won a medal at the Paralympics.
The 32-year-old Sarah accomplished the feat with a throw of 5.39 metres to win the second place behind Algerian Bojedar Asmahan, who registered a throw of 5.72 metres.
