Beaches across Qatar are drawing a large number of visitors, including single expatriate workers, during the Eid al-Adha holidays.
With the mercury dipping below 40C and humidity dropping, there has been a remarkable improvement in visitors to beaches during the afternoon.
Beaches at Dukhan, Shamaal, Al Wakra and Mesaieed have been attracting a steady stream of visitors from last Friday, with the rush peaking from the first day of Eid al-Adha.
The Doha Corniche too has attracted a large number of visitors. Marinas at The Pearl-Qatar and Lusail too received quite a number of visitors and many of them went on boat rides to islands.

Single expatriate workers enjoy the Eid break on a beach.

More than half of the nearly 350-400 luxury boats, including scores of small vessels, berthed at the marinas at The Pearl-Qatar and many boats in Lusail and Marriot Doha Hotel are away at sea.
A large number of locals travelled to islands like Aala, Shraya and Sabilya in their boats, inquiries revealed. Some of the groups, especially those owing luxury boats, also take their cooks on such trips, sources said.
While some of the revellers stay overnight at tents erected on the islands, others return to Doha late in the evening.
