Bedaya holds Entrepreneurship Summer Camp for children

The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, concluded its two-week entrepreneurship camp for children aged 8 to 14 years.
Titled “Entrepreneurship Summer Camp,” the activity was organised in collaboration with the children’s library, Maktaba. The first week of the camp was held for the boys, while the second week was dedicated to the girls.
The participants engaged in several activities and courses, which were simplified to suit their age. The participants also visited the Qatar Scientific Club where they experienced different projects, including robotics, solar energy, 3D printing, laser cutting, gardening,
programming, and mechanics.
Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Sowaidi said: “One of Bedaya’s pillars is to capitalise and work hard on building the entrepreneurial and creative mindset of children. The summer camp provided and offered different workshops to help the participants think creatively and build things from scratch. They also learned how to market their products and understand pricing methods.”
She added: “One of the camp’s primary objectives was to provide the participants with basic skills, instil the value of self-employment, develop communication skills with the public and audience, break fear barriers, take responsibility through a range of integrated solutions, provide capabilities that will help them deal with the market and commodity needs, as well as the best ways to market their products, and optimise methods that will help them to attract audiences for their businesses and products.”
Sarah Champa, founder of Maktaba, said: “We are honoured to repeat our successful experience with Bedaya Centre by supporting this camp. This also coincides with the objectives of our mission, which is to inspire kids and their families to love reading and learning. We also encourage them to learn new things. Through this spring camp, we acquainted the kids with the most basic rules and principles that will benefit them in the future.”
