Strong winds will accompany scattered rain that is expected in the central parts of Qatar on Tuesday, the Met department has said.

Light rain was reported from Jumailiyah on Monday, according to information available on the weather office’s online channels.
The weather station at Al Jumailiyah recorded 2.2mm of rain and the area was affected by a “thunder cell, accompanied by strong downdraft winds”, the Met department tweeted.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas on Tuesday says hazy to misty conditions are expected in some places at first. This is to be followed by a hot day with local cloud formation and there is a weak chance of scattered rain in the central areas. It will be relatively humid by night.
Hazy to misty conditions are also likely at times in offshore areas along with some clouds.
On Monday, a maximum temperature of 46C was recorded in Jumailiyah, followed by 45C in Shehaimiya and Karanah, and 44C in Sheehaniyah, Batna and Turayna. In the capital, the mercury level reached a high of 40C in the Qatar University area.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 41C in Abu Samra and 40C in Doha.
