As part of its 'Relieve Aleppo' campaign, Qatar Charity (QC) has been able to distribute 5,000 food baskets to 5,000 families in the besieged Syrian city.
QC also distributed flour, baby milk and water through the tankers customised especially for the charity.
Mohammed Rashid al-Ka'bi, Director of Relief Management at QC, said the relief campaign for Aleppo will continue since the circumstances in the city seem to exacerbate and deteriorate considering the ongoing bombardment of civilians. "The good-doers and philanthropists in Qatar should stand by the side of their brothers and sisters in Syria who suffer from a dire shortage of basic needs".
Al-Ka'bi said QC in coordination with its field team plans to start new projects of shelter, health and food in the city. Al Ka'bi thanked all the people who helped, supported and donated for the 'Relieve Aleppo' campaign.
QC has recently provided Syrian families with milk for about 6,150 babies . Aleppo is suffering from a suffocating siege and food and medical supplies are not allowed to go inside. In addition, baby milk prices have risen high due to the shortage .
QC launched the 'Relieve Aleppo' drive in the beginning of May and allocated QR10mn for urgent aid for the people of the city.
People can donate to the cause through Al Rayyan bank account: IBAN/QA40MAFR000000000003111111001, QC's website qcharity.org, headquarters and branches in Qatar, or collection points in the malls.
