The General Directorate of Logistics and Supply at the Ministry of Interior has signed a QR816.7mn contract for the construction of a new building of the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriates Affairs (GDNBEA) at Wadi Al Banat opposite Lekhwiya Sports Club. The agreement was signed by Brigadier Hisham Ibrahim al-Kusaibi, director-general of the General Directorate of Logistics, and Mohamed Ezzuddin, general director of contracting company Al Aali International, MoI has said in a statement. Brigadier al-Kusaibi said the project includes the construction of three buildings and parking space for staff and clients, which can accommodate up to 2,000 cars. Spread over 59,845sqm, the project is scheduled to be completed in 30 months. The signing ceremony was also attended by Brig Mohamed Ahmad al-Ateeq, assistant director of GDNBEA; Brig Saud al-Shafi, assistant director of Logistics; Brig Mohamed Thani al-Mudhahaka, director of the Building Affairs Department, Logistics; and Lt Brigadier Khamis Saif al-Mansouri, director of the Procurement Department, Logistics. Brig al-Ateeq said the new administration building will be designed in such a way that it will be easy to access for the elderly and 
people with disabilities. Noting that the project will make things more convenient for visitors and enable them to complete their work in a short time, he said departments such as Nationality and Travel Documents, Expatriate Affairs and Border Passport will be shifted to the new building.
