Poor visibility is expected in parts of the country in the early hours of Tuesday due to fog, the Qatar Met department has said.

The weather office also tweeted that ‘suitable weather conditions for sea activities were expected to prevail throughout the week’.

The detailed forecast for inshore areas on Tuesday says misty to foggy conditions are likely in some places at first, followed by a hot day with slight dust. There is also a weak chance of localised rain in the central parts of the country.

Hazy to misty conditions, meanwhile, are expected in offshore areas at times along with some clouds.

Visibility may drop to 1km or less in some areas in the early hours, according to the weather report.

On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded in Qatar was 46C in Sheehaniyah, Batna, Karanah and some other places, followed by 45C in Turayna and 44C in the Qatar University area and Al Rayyan.

Tuesday, the mercury level is expected to reach a high of 42C in Doha, Messaied, Wakrah and Al Khor.
