Rain and thunder, along with strong winds, are expected in the southern parts of the country by noon on Saturday, the Qatar Met department has said.
This is also likely to result in a drop in visibility, which may come down to 2km or less during the thundershowers, according to the weather report.
Northeasterly winds (mainly) are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 4-20 knots, reaching a high of 25 knots in the southern areas during the thundery rain.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas also says hazy conditions are expected at first, followed by a hot day with slight dust and local clouds. There is a chance of rain in the southern parts of Qatar, which may be accompanied by thunder.
Weather charts showed that clouds were expected at a number of places, including Doha, on Saturday.
Offshore areas, meanwhile, are likely to see slightly dusty conditions with some clouds.
On Friday, the maximum temperature recorded in Qatar was 46C in Turayna, followed by 45C in Sheehaniyah, Batna and other places. In the capital, the mercury level rose to 41C in the Qatar University and Doha airport areas.
The temperature on Saturday is expected to reach a high of 43C in Abu Samra and 41C in Doha, Mesaieed, Wakrah and Al Khor.
Blowing dust had led to a drop in visibility at a number of places on Thursday evening, and dusty conditions were reported from some places on Friday as well.
The Met department said on Friday morning that the situation had improved in Doha and would gradually normalise in other areas.
