A hot day and a humid night are expected in the country today, the Met department has said.
After remaining relatively low for a while, the mercury level had soared over the past two days across Qatar, including Doha.
While it will continue to be hot today, the temperature is expected to fall marginally from the levels reached yesterday, going by the weather trends.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded in Qatar was 48C in Al Rayyan and Batna, followed by 47C in the Qatar University area, Sheehaniyah, Turayna and Karanah, and 46C in the Doha airport area, Al Khor and other places.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in the country was 46C.
Today, the mercury level is expected to reach a high of 43C in Dukhan and 42C in Doha, Al Khor and Abu Samra.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas today says it will be hot during the day with slight dust and some clouds. It will also be relatively humid by night.
Offshore areas, meanwhile, are likely to see hazy to misty conditions along with some clouds.
