A Doha Criminal Court has fined a Greek expatriate QR20,000 for insulting a woman motorist and damaging her vehicle.

According to a local Arabic daily, the court convicted the man based on witness testimonies and official reports.
The woman, accompanied by her two-year-old daughter, was heading towards the Katara signals from the Diplomatic Club area one morning when a speeding vehicle, driven by the defendant, appeared from behind. Unable to find a way past her, he allegedly rammed his vehicle into the woman's car from behind a number of times, causing damage to the latter.
When the two motorists stopped and got out of their cars, the man started abusing her in public. Two British expatriates passing by the area stopped and videoed the incident. They also testified in court that the defendant had insulted the woman and hit her vehicle on purpose at least thrice, the daily said.
Meanwhile, the woman submitted a request in the court for the defendant to pay her compensation for the damage sustained, amounting to QR500,000. The court said this should be submitted in the civil court.
