The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it will implement a full closure of the Al Thumama junction for 36 hours this weekend.

The closure, to be carried out in co-ordination with the Traffic Department, will last from midnight on Thursday until Saturday noon, Ashghal has said in a statement.
During this period, traffic will be diverted to surrounding streets, as shown on the attached map.
The closure will facilitate the laying of the final layer of asphalt at the junction, which is part of the E-Ring and Najma roads development project.
Motorists travelling on Najma Street Extension Road have been advised to take F-Ring Road or Al Matar Street, instead of continuing straight on Najma Street towards the Al Thumama junction.
Ashghal has said it will instal road signs to advise motorists of the closure. It has requested all road users to abide by speed limits and follow road signs to ensure the safety of every road user.
