Local banks and financial institutions have geared up to meet customers’ requirements when they will be closed for five consecutive days during Eid al-Fitr.
They have made some arrangements to serve customers during Eid al-Fitr through various delivery channels.
Qatar’s largest bank QNB informed its customers that it will “extend its banking services” during the Eid holiday to work un-interrupted round-the-clock at the Marriot branch, e-branches at Al Khor Mall and Pearl/ Porto Arabia.
In addition, QNB branches at The Mall, Villaggio, City Center, Landmark, Lagoona, Medina Centrale, Gulf Mall will resume work on the second and third day of Eid during evening hours. More details on QNB’s services during Eid Al-Fitr can be had from 44407777.
For customers’ convenience, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) announced that The Gate Mall, Dar Al Salam and City Center branches will open its doors from the evening of the second day of Eid as per regular banking hours.
After Eid holidays, all the 31 QIB branches will resume work as per regular morning and evening shifts. The branches at the malls will be open from Saturday until Thursday from 9am to 2-30pm and 3-30pm to 9pm and on Friday from 4pm to 9pm.
QIB e-channels will be available round-the-clock through Internet banking, QIB mobile banking application, call centre and more than170 ATMs and cash deposit machines across the country.
Local banks have also organised their call centres and posted field operation teams, which will be available for customer help round-the-clock, industry sources said yesterday.
All automated teller machines (ATMs) would also be under scrutiny to ensure they are sufficiently loaded with cash.
The card team in each bank has been put on maximum alert in view of the potentially higher use of credit cards by customers during Eid. Besides assisting customers, the teams will also be on the ‘lookout for any misuse’, sources said.
