Strong winds are expected across the country on Sunday along with poor visibility in some areas due to dusty conditions, the Qatar Met department has said.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds along with high seas, according to the weather report.

The wind speed may go up to 35 knots in some inshore areas at times before decreasing by night.

In offshore, it is likely to reach 25 knots and reduce by evening.

Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 2km or less in some places at times.

The forecast for inshore areas on Sunday also says it will be hot during the day with some clouds.

Slight to blowing dust is expected at times.

Slightly dusty conditions have been forecast in offshore areas, where the sea level may rise to 7ft.

Saturday, the highest temperature recorded in the country was 44C in the Doha airport area, Wakrah, Messaied and Turayna, followed by 43C in the Qatar University area and Al Rayyan, among other places.

A maximum temperature of 45C has been forecast in Doha, Wakrah and Messaied on Sunday, while the mercury level is expected to touch 43C in Al Khor.
