The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will close a small section of Al Sakhama Road and put in place a diversion on Al Wukair Road, both for 12 months, in co-ordination with the Traffic Police.

The closure of this small section of Al Sakhama Road will start this Saturday to implement a new parallel diversion road on Al Wukair Road.

The diversion on Al Wukair Road will commence today to enable the construction of two bridges and other vehicular and cycle underpasses on Ashghal’s Al Wakrah Bypass project.

OnSaturday, residents in Ezdan villages who usually use Al Sakhama Road to access Al Wukair Road will need to use the local road route, as shown on the map.

Road users travelling in both directions on Al Wukair Road will be minimally affected by the change, diverting to a parallel road for a length of 1.3km. The new parallel diversion road will provide two lanes in each direction, as the existing Al Wukair Road. The speed limit for this section of Al Wukair Road will be 50 kph.

Ashghal will install road signs on the closure. The authority has requested all road users to abide by the speed limits and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
