The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) is keen to tie up with the universities in Qatar as part of its corporate social responsibility strategies to ensure linkage between academia and finance industry, according to its top official.
“In line with the human, economic and social pillars of the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030, QSE is keen to cooperate with the Qatari universities in development and training programmes designed to help the link between educational output and the professional life,” QSE chief executive Rashid bin Ali al-Mansoori told deans, professors of Qatari Business and Economic Faculties at the recently held business Suhoor.
The QSE’s mission is to raise financial and investment awareness among university students in light of the QNV 2030, which seeks to build a strong national economy based on knowledge, al-Mansoori said.
Expressing satisfaction over the fruitful cooperation between the QSE and the Qatari universities, al-Mansoori said the QSE is actively participating in nation-building activities in its capacity as a well-established and prestigious national institution in Qatar.
The Sohoor – which was attended by Qatar University, Carnegie Mellon University, College of North Atlantic, Georgetown University and HEC Paris, along with Qatar Development Bank – discussed mutual cooperation opportunities between the exchange and the universities in finance and investment education fields.
