A German flight attendant is suing footballer Max Kruse for infringement of privacy after he allegedly showed his teammates images of her in the nude, Bild daily reported yesterday. The plaintiff, named as Sarah S, became acquainted with the Wolfsburg striker in early 2015, and had sent him intimate images of herself. But she has now requested an injunction for him to “delete electronic files showing her in a state of nudity or partial nudity”.
Bild added that top German players including Sami Khedira could be called as witnesses as Kruse allegedly showed them the film and photos in question. “It cannot be ruled out that Mr Kruse showed the private photos of my client to some of his football friends. If necessary, I will summon Mr Khedira and Kruse’s other teammates,” Alexander Stevens, the woman’s lawyer, told Bild.
A spokesman at a court in Lower Saxony confirmed that a “complaint has been filed against Max Kruse”, without giving details of the case. “Whether and who would be heard as witnesses in this case cannot be predicted at this time,” said the spokesman.
Kruse was in March dropped from the German squad for upcoming friendlies following a string of off-pitch indiscretions.
While celebrating his 28th birthday, he had an altercation with a journalist at a Berlin nightclub after the player was reportedly unhappy at having his picture taken without permission.
According to Bild, Wolfsburg fined Kruse 25,000 euros ($27,800) over the incident, just days after the Bundesliga club slapped him with a similar fine for leaving 75,000 euros in the back of a taxi.
Kruse, who is a keen poker player, reportedly forgot the huge amount of cash in a holdall during an early morning taxi ride through Berlin last October. He did not make Germany’s Euro 2016 squad.
