International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) is holding its eighth Ramadan “Do Good Deeds” campaign, a community outreach initiative launched in 2009.
In line with this, IBQ partnered with The Ritz-Carlton, Doha recently to host a Suhoor with Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN). The campaign stems from the bank’s belief in supporting the community and improving the lives of children and elderly people, according to a statement.
This is not the first time that IBQ and The Ritz-Carlton, Doha has partnered on a CSR activity.
People with disability and special needs are of particular importance to both organisations, the statement noted.
“IBQ’s social responsibility agenda includes a wide variety of events in different fields, particularly in the holy month of Ramadan. Taking care of people with special needs requires continuous efforts and investment in social, mental, academic and healthy rehabilitation of those people in the society. We have the highest respect for the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs mission and for their staff working very hard for a better society,” said Omar Bouhadiba, IBQ’s managing director.
Expressing gratitude, Amir al-Mulla of QSRSN said: “We are grateful to IBQ and The Ritz-Carlton, Doha for their extreme generosity and support.
The holy month is the perfect time of the year to show support and do good deeds.”
Erden Kendigelen, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, added: “We are thrilled to have partnered with IBQ on this CSR initiative and would like to thank the institution for this opportunity. Giving back to society is at the very core of the hotel’s CSR strategy worldwide and we are proud to support Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs.”
