Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) welcomed guests at its third Annual Tourism Industry Ramadan Ghabga, which brought together its partners in the public and private sector, staff and media representatives.
“In its National Tourism Strategy and in other channels, right from the start QTA has stressed that tourism is a crucial avenue for developing a sustainable non-hydrocarbon economy in Qatar and conveying Qatari culture to the world,” said public relations and communications director Saif Jassim al-Kuwari, who delivered a speech on behalf of chief tourism development officer Hassan al-Ibrahim.
“The reality of this need has come to the fore this year, more than any other time, and the job of diversifying the tourism offering and securing a place for Qatar on the map of destinations has gained even more significance,” he noted.
“To achieve this we must work harder, and collaborate much closer,” al-Kuwari added.
The Annual Tourism Industry Ghabga is one of many platforms for the members of the tourism sector to connect, exchange ideas and find new and innovative ways to develop the sector through partnerships.
