Al Khalij Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji) has launched, for the fourth consecutive year, a charity donation campaign that will run during the holy month of Ramadan.

The campaign is part of its continued efforts to give back to the community, the bank has said in a statement.
For every purchase customers make through their Al Khaliji debit or credit card, the bank will contribute QR1 to charity. This will effectively allow Al Khaliji customers to partake in its charitable activities during the holy month by carrying out their day-to-day banking activities, the statement notes.
Commenting on the donation campaign, Al Khaliji’s head of personal banking Rana al-Asaad said: “Celebrating the holy month of Ramadan is an ideal opportunity to re-emphasie the values of co-operation and solidarity among all members of the society.
"The donation campaign launched by al khaliji for the fourth year in a row focuses on improving the lives of those who are less fortunate, double the impact of the charitable work and share the value of giving with our customers.
"We invite all our customers to use their cards and join us in this humanitarian campaign."
The campaign falls under Al Khaliji’s corporate social responsibility programme, which has extended its scope of initiatives and activities over the past years to support environmental preservation, educational and healthcare support and other charitable causes.
“With this campaign, Al Khaliji is strengthening the ties between its customers and the community which it serves, re-injecting its growth into that of the Qatari community. Al Khaliji will donate the proceeds to charity and customers are not liable for donation,” the statement adds.
