Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) will host a variety of activities throughout the holy month of Ramadan, within the Education City to bring together the wider Qatar community and enhance the spiritual, health and cultural well-being of all members of society.
Families and children of all ages and nationalities can take part in a wide range of sporting, cultural and spiritual activities on the special occasion of Ramadan.
Religious activities will include lessons to be held every day after Duhr and Terawih at the Education City Mosque, and after Asr prayer at the newly opened Msheireb Mosque in Downtown Msheireb. Members of the public are also invited to daily prayers and to break their fast after Maghreb prayer at the Education City mosque.
Sporting activities hosted by QF will include a number of events based at Oxygen Park. The venue will host families and the general public on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during Ramadan between 8pm and 12 midnight. Al Shaqab has organised an Equine Education Camp in their Indoor Arena for children and teenagers. QF has arranged several sports tournaments including a ladies table tennis, ladies volleyball, squash and cricket event.
Cultural activities organised by QF will include a Ramadan Festival, due to take place at the Education City Club House. The event will include traditional entertainment and games for kids and adults. Further cultural events will include an engaging range of QF Radio Ramadan shows, designed to inform and entertain the public during the holy month. Cultural public activities will also include Garangao, a traditional children’s festival to be held at Al Shaqab on June 17, involving traditional games and much loved pastimes for all the family.
