HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser yesterday issued a decision to add HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari and Director General of Qatar Development Fund Khalifa bin Jassim al-Kuwari to the membership of the Board of Directors of Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW).
QFSW Board of Directors is chaired by Muneera bint Nasser al-Misned, and includes: HE Dr Kaltham bint Ali al-Ghanim (deputy chairman), HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr Saleh Mohamed Salem al-Nabit, Hamad bin Mohamed al-Fehaid al-Hajeri, HE Executive Director of Doha International Family Institute Noor bint Abdullah al-Maliki al-Jehani, HE Chancellor Rabia Karzapi, and Chief Executive Officer of QFAW Amal bint Abdullatif al-Mannai.
Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) was formed under the directives of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in August 2013 as a non-profit development organisation that aims at developing civil society organisations working under its umbrella, strengthening their capabilities, and promoting their role in the society and in the development of strategies and policies that contribute to the upgrading of these organisations to achieve the desired goals.
A number of specialised centres are affiliated to QFSW, including Social Development Centre, Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs, Family Counseling Centre, Orphans Care Centre Qatar (Dhreima), Centre for Care and Empowerment of the Elderly people (IHSAN), Protection and Rehabilitation Centre, and the “Best Buddies” initiative.
