The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced the launch of a new version of its website, which features an updated design and provides easier access to different services.
Serving as a gateway to various types of data, information and services, the revamped website includes smart features and technical specifications that allow visitors to reach at their target with fewer clicks and has greater compatibility with browsers, the MoI has explained in a statement.
The development of the website is in line with efforts undertaken by the ministry to keep pace with various technological developments.
The website’s new version has been designed according to global standards. The contents are indexed in a simplified form to enable easy access to the programmes and electronic services on offer. These include 50 electronic systems and 160 integrated and interconnected electronic services.
The website comes with accessible features for persons with special needs, as efforts have been made to extend the services to people from all segments of the community and realise the vision of paperless e-governance, the statement notes.
The MoI has further noted that the new version is compatible with all widely used browsers such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari, in addition to smart devices on Android and iOS.  
The website is exclusively linked with all social media platforms of the ministry and contains the contacts of all departments through the link – “Contact Us”. It also gives the public the opportunity to participate in ongoing discussions and register their queries and complaints.
The features of the homepage include links to MoI services, departments & committees, media centre, security awareness and information centre. Quick access to latest news, journalist registration as well as newsletter subscription, poll survey and current discussion has also been provided.
The service section includes visa, security system, NOC, Civil Defence, Traffic, residency, exit permit, cases, smart card and general services.
Ministry news, publications, an audio and video gallery, events and a discussion forum are listed in the media centre segment. The security awareness section covers issues such as traffic awareness, safe travel, cyber security and general security, providing awareness tips and messages for the public.
The MoI has urged the public to visit the new version of its website, www.moi.gov.qa, get updated on the features, information and services available on its pages and utilise the facilities to contribute through comments, suggestions and opinions.
