Al Meera Consumer Goods Company deputy CEO Dr Mohamed Nasser al-Qahtani was honoured as Businessman of the Year at the second Qatar Today Business Excellence Awards.
In a statement, Al Meera said Dr al-Qahtani “deserved this recognition as a prominent Qatari businessman, following the astonishing financial results and significant profits made by Al Meera, and the opening of several new branches as well as the renewal and revamping of existing ones, not to forget reaching new heights on the Qatar Stock Exchange.”
Dr al-Qahtani has been responsible for making Al Meera “one of the fastest growing companies in Qatar, the statement notes.
“He did this through the implementation of the state’s economic and social strategies inspired by Qatar National Vision 2030 by building a strategic expansion plan in Qatar over the last few years,” the company said.
“Through these developments, he established Al Meera as ‘Your Favourite Neighbourhood Retailer,’ a chain that abides by the highest international standards in not only meeting consumer requirements but also gaining their complete satisfaction.”
Al Meera has seen a number of achievements since Dr al-Qahtani joined the company in 2011, the statement adds.
