The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced it will divert traffic on Al Gharrafa Roundabout, to a new three-leg intersection for 18 months from tomorrow, as shown on the map.
Motorists travelling on Yazeed Bin Talha Street and Al Uqab Street that usually enter the Al Gharrafa Roundabout from the west and north approaches can access the diverted intersection via the new traffic signal located at the intersection of Al Hazm Street and Al Gharrafa Street.
Motorists coming from south of Al Gharrafa Roundabout and heading to the local area west of the roundabout can continue on Al Gharrafa Street and turn left at the same Al Hazm Street signal.
Ashghal is implementing this diversion to enable the construction works of Al Gharrafa North Extension underpass as part of Dukhan Road East Contract-Khalifa Avenue project.
Ashghal will install road signs to inform motorists of the closure. The authority has requested all road users to abide by the speed limits, which has been reduced to 50 kph, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
