The Cabinet on Wednesday endorsed a draft decision by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce specifying the fees for the issue and renewal of consultancy services.
The bill comes as part of completing procedures for regulating consultancy businesses and the registration and renewal of their practice, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
This is in line with the provisions of Law No 10 of 2012 on the regulation of consultancy services and Cabinet Decision No 54 of 2014 on specifying the terms and conditions for granting licences to experienced global consultancy service centres and their commitments, according to the report.
After the regular weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud said the meeting agreed to extend the deadline for compliance with provisions of Law No 5 of 2015 on commercial and industrial outlets, similar public facilities and street vendors, as well as Law No 11 of 2015 on the issuance of the commercial companies law.
Further, the meeting ratified a Cabinet draft decision amending the regulation of some administrative units that constitute the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) and assigning their powers.
It also ratified a draft decision by HE the Minister of Transport and Communications on establishing departments within the administrative units that constitute the CRA and assigning their powers.
HE al-Mahmoud said the Cabinet welcomed - at the beginning of the meeting - the positive outcome of the 16th consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The Cabinet stressed that the consultative meeting showed the unified GCC stance towards the challenges facing the region, their keenness to support the progress of the GCC, achieve the aspirations of its peoples and maintain the security and stability of the region.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet ratified a draft decision by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce on issuing the regulations of a law (system) pertaining to brands in GCC states.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce had prepared the bill as part of completing procedures for issuing the required decisions to activate provisions of Law No 7 of 2014 on issuing the law (system).
The Cabinet also took the necessary measures to ratify a co-operation agreement in the legal field and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of youth and sports between the governments of Qatar and Venezuela, as well as an MoU between Qatar Central Bank and Central Bank of Venezuela.
The meeting ratified a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Guyana, a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Lithuania and a draft MoU on financial affairs co-operation between the finance ministries of Qatar and Belarus.
