Strong winds are expected across the country during the day along with poor visibility due to blowing dust, the Qatar Met department has said in its forecast for today.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds and high seas.
Northwesterly winds will blow at speeds ranging from 15-25 knots in inshore areas, going up to 35 knots in some places at times before decreasing to 8-15 knots by night. In offshore areas, the wind speed will range from 17-23 knots and may reach 28 knots today, according to the weather report.
The forecast for inshore areas today also says it will be hot during the day and dusty conditions are expected at times. Slightly dusty conditions are also likely in offshore areas, with the sea level rising to 9ft.
Visibility may drop to 2km or less in some areas at times.
