Grand Mart Group of Companies has opened its first restaurant, Abou Shawarma, on Thani bin Jassim Street in Al Gharafa.
Abou Shawarma is a franchise from Alfco, Lebanon, and Grand Mart has signed an agreement with the company to operate outlets in Qatar and the UAE.
The restaurant was inaugurated by Fawzi Hawasli, CEO of Alfco Lebanon, and Ahmad Murad al-Balushi in the presence of Shaoukathali Chakkarath, CEO of Grand Mart Group.
The 60-seat restaurant serves authentic Lebanese shawarma and Arabic sandwiches and the menu also features traditional breakfast items such as foul mudammas, musabaha and labneh sandwich, according to a statement from Grand Mart Group. The highlight of the menu is a wide range of shawarmas such as chicken, beef, sojok, kebab, fish, halloum, special beef, special chicken and special kebab.
Executive chef Marcell Geagea from Lebanon, assisted by a team with several years of kitchen production experience, will serve “some of the best shawarmas and special sandwiches in Qatar”, the statement notes.
“The menu at Abou Shawarma showcases the natural flavours of the freshest ingredients, with all sauces, dressings and desserts being made in-house.”
Abou Shawarma restaurants are also running in Lebanon and Kuwait.
