The weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thnai, yesterday approved a draft decision amending some provisions of decision No 18 of 2011 on nominating the president and members of the tax exemption committee, organising its work and determining its remunerations.
The committee specialises in receiving and studying tax exemption applications, cancellation of previous exemptions for breaching legal obligations, and preparing recommendations.
Following the meeting, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud stated that the Cabinet considered topics tabled on its agenda and took decisions.
The Cabinet took the measures to ratify a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of Qatar and Greece in the field of health and medical science.
The Cabinet also approved the following:
1. A draft co-operation agreement in the legal field between the governments of Qatar and Moldova.
2. A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in legal activities between the governments of Qatar and Malaysia.
3. A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in sports  between the governments of Qatar and Albania.
4. A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Tourism Authority and China National Tourism Administration on facilitating flights for Chinese tourist groups to Qatar.
The Cabinet then reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions:
1. A letter by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education on the results of the study of the problems relating to the Certificates Equation Committee’s Terms of Reference, assessing diplomas equation system, and the formation of the Technical Committee of the diplomas equation.
2. A memorandum by HE the Minister of Finance on the issue of Qatar’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
3. A letter by the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue concerning briefing the results of the 12th Doha Interfaith Dialogue Conference, held in Doha February 2016, and the visions of the Ministry of Justice in this regard.
