Leading Qatari-owned financial institution Ahli Bank (Ahlibank) has received the Straight Through Processing (STP) award presented by Commerzbank. The award underlines the bank’s outstanding STP performance of 99.77% in 2015 for the execution of commercial payments in euros. The Commerzbank award recognises Ahlibank’s consistently-high SWIFT payment standards, which facilitate automated processing through the payment chain. Michael B Gehrmann, senior relationship manager for Commerzbank, presented the award to the Ahlibank team led by Mahalingam Shankar, deputy CEO – Finance, Operations, Support, and Technology; and Trevor C Bailey, head of International Banking. Bailey said: “We are delighted to accept this award from Commerzbank. The provision of Straight Through Processing (STP) for euro commercial payments is an important measure of our effectiveness in meeting the needs of our customers, who we place at the heart of our business.” Picture shows Ahlibank officials receiving the award from Commerzbank.
