HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the visiting Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi held official talks at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.
The talks, which were attended by several Qatari ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying President Essebsi, dealt with relations between Qatar and Tunisia and means of enhancing them in various fields, especially in the economic and investment sectors.
The two sides also discussed  regional and international developments and held consultations on issues of common concern.
Earlier upon his arrival at the Emiri Diwan, the Tunisian president was accorded an official reception ceremony.     
Following the talks, the Emir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of President Essebsi and the accompanying delegation.
Separately,  HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani met President Essebsi yesterday.
They discussed ways to promote co-operation between Qatar and Tunisia  and reviewed the developments on Arab and international arenas.
The Tunisian president also met the Speaker of the Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi. The meeting, which took place at St Regis Hotel in Doha, dealt with means of enhancing bilateral parliamentary relations between Qatar and Tunisia.  
Later President Essebsi held a meeting with HE the Attorney General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, who is also the UN Special Advocate for Stolen Assets Recovery.
During the meeting, the Attorney General briefed the Tunisian president on the course of action and co-operation in the areas of recovery of stolen funds and anti-corruption efforts.
