Muscle cars and Qatar are almost synonymous and amongst them the Chevrolet Camaro has a sizeable chunk of fan following. Yesterday the 2016 edition of the ‘Transformers’ car was launched amidst much fanfare at the Jaidah Square showroom. From a laser show to LED dancers, Jaidah Automotive went no-holds-barred when it came to launching their most
popular car.
Chevrolet claims the new Camaro is the most powerful one ever built. The new 6.2-litre direct injected V8 mill, which produces 455hp and a whopping 617Nm will definitely help those claims. Chevy has also reduced the overall mass by 90kg. The 2016 edition also sees the introduction of the Magnetic Ride Contol active suspension which was previously available only on the ZL1.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohamed Jaidah, Group Executive Director of Jaidah Automotive, said, “We are excited to reveal the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro which utilises the latest technologies in its segment and limited to the Camaro. General Motors are continuously seeking innovative means to further enhance performance and appearance. As Chevrolet’s most popular model, the all-new Camaro has exceeded expectations, its performance and handling capabilities provide a faster, smoother, driving experience.”
The Camaro also comes loaded with cutting edge technology – all-new Drive mode Selector and an Interior Spectrum Lighting that offers 24 different ambient lighting settings being a couple of them. There’s a 8-inch infotainment display and Heads-Up display, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Like we mentioned earlier, it come loaded.
In terms of looks, Chevy hasn’t tinkered too much. The iconic nose is slightly more pinched and the headlamp assembly is now angular (not circular as in the 2015 edition). The sleek DRLs are the ones which catch your attention first and will guarantee second looks. The fog lamps are now straight LEDs and the air dam is trapezoidal. The sleek design continues at the rear with the new tail lamp assembly. With more cuts and swoops, the 2016 edition is definitely a looker. The final product is a result of 350 hours of wind tunnel testing, which has been done to ensure an aerodynamically superior product as compared to the
earlier iteration.
Jaidah Automotive is also offering a comprehensive after-sales package to make it an even more attractive proposition to the buyers. So all you muscle car enthusiasts out there, head to the Jaidah Square Showroom and take a look at the new
Camaro.
