The second annual Qatar International Medical Congress was inaugurated by HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari at the Doha Exhibition and
Convention Centre yesterday.
The three-day event showcases the medical industry’s latest innovations in technology, research and findings. Major healthcare facilities in the country such as the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and public entities such as Lekhwiya and Ashghal are part of the exhibition.
QIMC 2016 expects to have over 10,000 attendees. Hassan al-Hail, acting executive director, corporate communications at HMC, highlighted the advancements that HMC and PHCC have made in the healthcare services in the recent years as well as the
upcoming facilities.
“HMC will open seven new hospitals in the next 18 months. PHCC will open another three health centres this year which will enhance the healthcare services for the public.”
Abdullah Abdurazaq Haider, CEO, QIMC, said this year’s conference will not only advance the value of the medical industry for the region, but will offer new economic value as well.
The Lekhwiya stand at the exhibition displays its mobile hospital and highlights the services offered by it. The Ashghal pavilion showcases the most important health facilities it implements in addition to a number of modern design for hospitals and health centres.
