HE the  Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani yesterday participated in the ministerial meeting on Libya, which was held in Vienna. The meeting discussed  developments in Libya and means of supporting the Presidency Council, which is the only legitimate body in Libya, to perform its functions and duties in Libya, particularly in view of the growing phenomenon of terrorism. It also discussed international efforts to provide urgent humanitarian aid in the eastern region, especially in Benghazi, under the supervision of the UN. Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed stressed during the meeting Qatar’s commitment to fully support the Presidency Council and the government of national reconciliation, calling on the international community to provide support to the institutions which the Libyan political agreement grants it international legitimacy. The meeting was chaired by the Italian foreign minister and the US secretary of state, with the participation of president of the Presidency Council of the government of National Accord Fayez al-Sarraj, and representatives from France, the United Kingdom, China, Russia, Egypt, Germany, Malta, Algeria, Chad, Jordan, Morocco, Niger, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Arab League, the European Union and the African Union.
