A Doha Criminal Court has fined a motorist QR10,000 for hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle and injuring him, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.

The court convicted the man of reckless driving and driving a vehicle without a proper license and causing injury to others. He was also ordered to pay a sum of QR30,000 in collaboration with the insurance company concerned as a compensation for the victim.

The defendant was driving his vehicle by a local school when he hit a pedestrian with the front of his vehicle due to his carelessness. Then, he fled the scene, though the victim was injured as a result of the accident. After some time, the defendant gave himself up to the police and admitted hitting the victim.
