Traffic will be diverted from Monday on the westbound lanes of Dukhan Road, leading from Doha to Dukhan for a distance of 2.5km near the Mall of Qatar (see map).
The diversion will continue until August 7, according to an Ashghal statement.
During the period, traffic on the closed section of the Dukhan Road will be diverted to Al Rufaa Street, where drivers can use Al Rufaa roundabout and take a U-turn back to the Dukhan Road.
The closure is being made to complete construction works as part of the Dukhan Highway Central project, which includes a new highway with the mainline road starting west side of the existing Wajba interchange and ending one kilometre east of the town of Al Sheehanihya.
The project comprises 15 km of a dual carriageway with four lanes in each direction, hard shoulders, and grade separated interchanges.
