The need for such facilities increased after a number of petrol stations in Doha stopped operating in recent weeks, leading to massive queues at filling stations and causing long delays to motorists.
Narrating the difficulties they were facing at filling stations, some residents told Gulf Times that the situation was becoming worse.
The residents said they were often forced to stay awake until late at night to get their cars filled as a visit to a petrol station at other times of the day would lead to long delays due to the serpentine queues there.

For those who cannot stay up until the late hours, the other option is to visit a petrol station around 2-3pm when it would be relatively less crowded, according to some motorists. However, this would mean venturing out when the temperature is at its highest during the day, they point out.Vehicle owners said the authorities could consider setting up temporary or mobile stations along some of the less populated areas in Doha city as an immediate solution to the problem of crowded petrol stations.
For instance, people are demanding new petrol stations in areas such as Al Thumama and Mesaimeer, and along F-Ring Road.
With the closure of a number of petrol stations in different parts of Doha, several long stretches of roads in the city are without any filling station. These include parts of the arterial D-Ring Road and C-Ring Road, among others.
