The Primary Health Care Corporation marked the World Day of asthma on May 7 under the theme ‘you can control asthma’.
The activities aimed at improving and increasing awareness among asthmatics, the people around them and the society in general about prevention and treatment.
The Primary Health Care Corporation also organised a workshop on asthma in children for 112 nurses at Crowne Plaza Hotel.
During the workshoxxxp, a detailed explanation about asthma was presented by consultants working in Hamad Medical Corporation and PHCC, in addition to providing practical scenarios and a detailed explanation of the treatment plan.
The PHCC under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and in collaboration with HMC, implemented the Asthma Friendly Schools programme in 2014.
The programme aims at improving the quality of life and health of children with asthma.
Clinics of non-communicable chronic diseases at PHCC centres also held workshops and lectures on the causes of asthma, its complications, methods of treatment, awareness methods for patients, distribution of brochures and publications, and providing consultancy and advice by doctors.
