It would be applicable for both directions (as shown in the map). During the period, traffic on the closed section of the New Al Rayyan Street will be diverted to a newly constructed road adjacent to the closed road with the same number of lanes.
Access to key public services, such as Al Rawabi Woqod Petrol Station and the Al Rayyan Police Station, will be available through a signal-controlled intersection near Al Busawair Street.
The diversion is required to implement works to the main carriageway and continue utilities works, as part of the first phase of Al Rayyan Road Upgrade project which aims to increase the road capacity and enhance the traffic safety in the area. The work includes development of the infrastructure, installing Intelligent Transport Systems among others.
